Estée Launder’s Double Wear foundation is an iconic beauty staple. Not only is it a celebrity favourite, but it has been crowned the nation’s best foundation on numerous occasions.
However, though it isn’t the most pricey product on the beauty market, it’s not exactly a budget buy either. That’s why we were over the moon to hear about an inexpensive dupe that has been receiving endless rave reviews.
Women across the country in the Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains have been praising W7’s £3 Legend Foundation for doing the exact same job Double Wear is known and loved for (read: heavy duty, long-lasting coverage).
One woman actually compared the two foundations in a post, explaining: ‘I always stick to the same foundation but this time I thought I’d try something new. Estée Lauder is a whopping £30[+], the W7 is £2.99 in B&M! You can’t even tell the difference! I’m converted and saving myself £27. May not be as good for some people but I’m definitely swearing by it!’
Her post was soon flooded with comments from other women in the group, agreeing that the £3 dupe, which is available in B&M stores, was a winner.
‘I LOVE this foundation – wear it every day and keep Estée Lauder Double Wear for best,’ one wrote, while a second agreed: ‘Love this foundation, I’ve swapped.’
Others similarly called it a ‘game-changer’ and swore that they use it every day. According to the brand, the budget foundation will result in ‘legendary skin’.
‘For the days where you’ll be facing the stress of work and the weather or for evenings where you’ll be dancing until the sun comes up, this foundation is formulated to sit comfortably on the skin whilst lasting for hours through thick or thin,’ it promises.
The foundation is also available to purchase online on the W7 website, though you’ll have to spend slightly more with the price at £7.95.
It’s not the only budget base to be hailed as a great Double Wear dupe: back in June beauty fans hailed Primark’s £5 Double Coverage Matte Foundation as another excellent, equivalent foundation.
