It’s pretty hard to narrow it down, but now, a survey conducted by gift card site One4All has revealed which are the nation’s most beloved beauty brands.
The winner? Boots’s own brand No7, which launched onto the high street in 1935 and has since gained cult status for its hard-working anti-ageing heroes – most notably the Protect & Perfect Serum – at affordable price points.
Also making the top 10 list of most popular beauty brands included other high street heroes Nivea, L’Oreal, The Body Shop and Maybelline.
The survey also found that the average British woman spends £384 on beauty products every day, including skincare, make-up and perfume. For men, this was £308 on hair and skincare items.
It’s the younger generations they found to be spending the most, with under-25s generally splashing out £1,308 per year, including on salon services.
Aoife Davey, senior marketing director, says: ‘There are certainly some clear staples within the beauty sector that women and men alike have been reaching for time and time again. No7, Nivea and L’Oréal are without question here to stay – but it’s exciting to see the interest around up and coming beauty brand, The Ordinary, which only launched in 2016 and is already a firm favourite amongst celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Holly Willoughby.
‘We were also interested to see that the younger generation are investing in higher value beauty brands such as MAC and Urban Decay and professional spa and salon services.’
