Each year, Tu Clothing celebrates the best and brightest in emerging fashion talent with their Graduate Fashion Week collection – and this year, we’ve fallen head over heels in love with the edit at first glance.
The winner of 2019’s womenswear scholarship was Josephine Roberts, a gifted artist from Northumbria University who has created a range inspired by family trips to the Cornish seaside, as well as her own watercolour paintings.
The result is a gorgeous array of relaxed silhouettes and slouchy tailoring, with paper bag waists and wide-legs in lightweight linens (a subtle nod to the traditional workwear of Cornish fishermen). These casual fits are complimented by a soft colour palette with washes of soft pinks, blues and greens, tempered with timeless neutrals that you’ll pull out of your wardrobe year after year.
Our hearts were instantly won by the pastel pink linen blazer and short co-ord, a wear-everywhere set that can be mixed and matched almost endlessly, but there’s also statement high-waisted trousers, an easy breezy shirt dress and even swimwear on the rails that’s equally chic and covetable. For cooler summer evenings, you can also invest in the fun loop knit cardigan, to be stashed in your bag and pulled out to keep you cosy as the sun sets.
With prices running from £8-£30 and sizes from an 8-22, we predict high demand for these finds, which is why we’re adding all of the best bits of our trolleys now. If you want to do the same, here are the pieces we suspect might fly out of stock first.
