The days are getting longer and the temperatures are creeping back up; sandal weather is so close we can almost taste it.
If, like us, you want to start your summer wardrobe prep now, we’d suggest taking note of Topshop‘s latest bestseller – simple yet chic strappy shoes that look set to be one of the most popular pairs of 2019.
The mid-height leather heels are so versatile, in fact, that they’ve already sold out once completely despite arriving on the website before the sun officially started shining. But now they’re back in stock, ready to be snapped up as spring begins to rear its head – and at just £46, we can see that happening fast.
‘We’re seeing a shift back to a slimmer profile for footwear for the Spring/Summer season, with a focus on “barely there” sandals,’ Anthony Cuthbertson, Global Design Director at Topshop, confirms to you.co.uk.
‘The 90s inspired shape and the, very wearable, mid-heel height of our Strippy style has caught the attention of our customer – in fact it’s been so popular that it sold out within days. To cope with the demand, we’ve restocked the style on Topshop.com in both black and coral this afternoon and we’re expecting them to sell out again very quickly.’
The Strippy shoe is currently available in two colours: a classic black, and a punchy coral. But like the sandal of last year – Dune’s comfortably flat Loupe style, which drummed up a waiting list of thousands thanks to its striking similarity to Hermes’ much lusted-after £485 Oran sliders – Topshop says there are more in the pipeline, including lime, snake print and off-white versions.
Footwear isn’t the only area where Topshop is coming up trumps for S/S 19 – their new Editor jeans are flying off the shelves thanks to their flattering fit and low price tag. The denim, which comes in a choice of three shades, has won praise across the industry, and has been hailed as the ‘new Joni’ – a reference to the store’s previous top-selling skinny jean line.
Unsurprisingly, the collection is almost completely out of stock online, but we’re heading into our local store with high hopes…
