These are the top ten ‘poshest’ dogs, according to a new study

Lockdown saw a huge increase in the number of people getting pets; in fact, according to the Pet Food Manufacturers’ Association, a record 3.2 million households have acquired a pet since the pandemic began. And within that number, it goes without saying that dogs have undoubtedly been one of the most popular animals.

We’re a nation of dog lovers, that’s for sure. But which breeds are considered the ‘poshest’? A new report by The Telegraph has unveiled the top ten poshest dogs, and the beloved Labrador has topped the list.

At number one, black, yellow, and chocolate labs have hit the top spot, thanks to their nationwide appeal, sleek appearance, and friendly temperament.

Labs were closely followed by rescue dogs, which of course cannot be defined by one ‘breed’ as such. Even back in March 2020 when lockdown began, there were signs that pet adoption and rescue from shelters was set to increase, with more of us turning to dogs that need re-homing than ever.

In third place were whippets, who are known for their friendly, loyal, and docile nature, and in fourth were cocker spaniels, which make lovely family pets and are beloved for their super fluffy, floppy ears.

There were plenty of other favourites in the top ten list, including pugs, Jack Russells, and miniature dachshunds, which are especially favoured by city dwellers without much space. The Queen’s favourite breed — the corgi — also features on the list, perhaps somewhat unsurprisingly considering its links to royalty.

You can take a look at the full list below, and enjoy a snap of each furry friend to brighten up your day! Whether they’re ‘posh’ or not, we can all agree that these breeds are super sweet…
