The Lightbox: What we’re talking about at YOU this week

Welcome to The Lightbox, your weekly roundup of what we’re talking about at YOU by our very own Editorial Assistant, Charlotte Vossen. This week, we’re planning a drive-in date night, snacking on nature’s cereal and watching The Great British Celebrity Bake Off.

Watch: The Great British Celebrity Bake Off

Channel 4

The Great British Celebrity Bake Off is back and the first episode didn’t disappoint. Famous faces Daisy Ridley, Rob Beckett, Alexandra Burke and Tom Allen joined judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith in the tent as they raised money for Stand Up To Cancer. The foursome tackled millionaire shortbread in the signature and vegan chocolate and raspberry tarts in the technical, before creating their pet hates in cake form in the showstopper. While we won’t say who was crowned Star Baker, we can say that the real star of this week’s episode was Daisy Ridley’s toilet cake. Airs Tuesdays at 8pm on Channel 4

Drink: NIO Cocktails

NIO Cocktails

We love a parcel that fits through the letterbox, and these cocktail boxes by NIO might be our new favourite thing – did we mention they come in cute pastel colours too? Short for Needs Ice Only, the concept is quick and easy: grab a glass, give the cocktail pack a quick shake, tear off the corner and pour it over ice. You can build your own box of 3, 6 or 9 cocktails, to choose from a range of 16 alcoholic drinks – including favourites such as a Cosmopolitan and Boulevardier and a Virgin Bitter, NIO’s non-alcoholic take on a Negroni. From £19,50, niococktails.co.uk

Instagram: Lady Gaga

Earlier this week, Lady Gaga shared a first photo from the set of House of Gucci alongside Adam Driver – and we’re obsessed. The biographical film will tell the story of how Patrizia Reggiani plotted to assassinate her ex-husband and former head of the Gucci fashion house, Maurizio Gucci. Set to be released in November, House of Gucci is currently filming in Italy – the cast has been spotted in Rome and Gressoney, a small town in the Italian Alps – so make sure to follow the hashtag for more behind-the-scenes snaps of what will probably be the most stylish film of 2021.

Eat: Nature’s cereal

Is it nature’s cereal, or just a fancy fruit salad? Either way, thanks to Lizzo, the entire internet is running to the grocery store for pomegranate seeds, berries and coconut water. The original recipe was posted on TikTok by @natures_food, who claims the breakfast ‘cereal’ helps with digestion and provides a boost of energy. Simply add a handful of pomegranate seeds and berries – blueberries seem to be a popular choice – to a bowl and add a splash of coconut water. Don’t forget the ice cubes, as they will help with the crunch.

Try: Luna Drive-In Cinema

Luna Drive In Cinema

There’s nothing better than rewatching a classic, unless we can do it in a car with Blenheim Palace as the backdrop. From April 12th, the nostalgic Luna Drive-In Cinema returns to the Oxfordshire estate, the NEC Birmingham, Bluewater and Knebworth House in a socially distanced setting, and a Spring schedule full of cult screenings – we’re talking Pretty Woman, Dirty Dancing and Jurassic Park, just to name a few. So pick a movie, click and collect your popcorn and park your car because, with less than a month to go, you need to start planning your drive-in date night. Tickets from £32,50 per car, lunadriveincinema.com
