Welcome to The Lightbox, your weekly roundup of what we’re talking about at YOU by our very own Editorial Assistant, Charlotte Vossen. This week, we’re watching The Bachelorette, treating ourselves to Malfy Gin x Pleesecakes and shopping the Havaianas by ZARA collection.
Watch: The Bachelorette on Hayu
The Bachelorette is back and we’re kicking off the new season of one of our favourite reality dating shows with thirty eligible singletons. Watch 30-year-old Katie Thurston find love at a luxury spa resort in New Mexico – a preview at the end of the first episode promises lots of romantic dates and fireworks, tears and heartbreak, and even the return of a contestant from the last series. But will it end with an engagement? New episodes of The Bachelorette are available to stream and download on hayu every Thursday.
Indulge: Malfy Gin x Pleesecakes
Combining the best of both worlds, the Malfy Gin x Pleesecakes collab is probably one of the sweetest treats to indulge in this summer. Available for delivery to all mainland UK residents, each box contains two miniature gin bottles and six mascarpone cream cheesecakes in Malfy Gin’s Con Limone and Rosa flavours – the lemon ones have a shortbread biscuit base, while the grapefruit cheesecakes are made with plain digestives. £29, Pleesecakes
Splurge: Havaianas by ZARA collection
On the lookout for some flip flops? Head over to ZARA because the high street retailer has teamed up with Havaianas on a limited collection of striped designs in muted colours that are perfect for the warm weather. Most sizes are currently unavailable but you can sign up with your email address to get notified when they come back in stock, so keep an eye on your inbox and snatch up a pair quickly. £19.99, Zara
Try: Dr. Oetker Ristorante’s new vegan pizza
As much as we like cooking, sometimes you just want to pop a pizza in the oven and as far as frozen pizzas go, the Ristorante range by Dr. Oetker is one of our favourites. Their newest addition is a vegan Margherita Pomodoro and with its thin and crispy crust, melted grated topping and basil pesto-style garnish, this pizza is a tasty plant-based alternative. We recommend serving it with a side salad for some extra greens, although it’s also perfectly enjoyable on its own.
Listen: Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness
The cast of Netflix’s Queer Eye is currently filming the sixth series of the makeover show in Texas, US, and while we wait for the release date of the new season to be confirmed, the Fab Five sat down to record an hour-long episode of Jonathan Van Ness’s podcast live from the set. They discuss some of their favourite moments from the upcoming season, dish out on their personal lives and give you a glimpse into their friendship. Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness is available to stream on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
