The Body Shop has a new addition to its sellout SPF Skin Defence range

By now, we all know the importance of wearing SPF every day – yes, even when it’s pouring with rain outside and all your plans consist of binge-watching Netflix. For some people, the issue with SPF for the face is down to the texture of the products they’re using. Sun protection can be a bit claggy, greasy and block pores.

Cult SPF brands such as La Roche Posay and Ultra Violette are known for their lightweight texture and easy application. Now, The Body Shop has announced it will be adding another must-have SPF to its previously sold-out selection, to rival other brands.

A few years ago, The Body Shop launched its Skin Defence Essence. It became a sellout thanks to its invisible and weightless finish, as well as providing a decent level of protection. The Body Shop announced it had reformulated the product into the Skin Defence Multi-Protection Lotion SPF 50+ PA++++ last year, which would promise higher levels of sun protection against UVA and UVB rays. Plus, it now includes vitamin C and marula oil to give skin a nourished glow.

Just last week, The Body Shop revealed it had an ‘exciting new addition’ to its Skin Defence moisturiser range. Savvy skincare shoppers were more than happy to see the return of the invisible SPF. Other in-demand SPF products can leave a non-greasy film, however, The Body Shop Skin Defence Multi-Protection Light Essence doesn’t leave any film.

‘I’m using the Skin Defence Lotion at the moment and I’m loving it! It smells so nice and I love knowing that my skin is protected all day,’ one person commented.

‘Okay I’m never going back to other stores or brands once this is available at The Body Shop,’ another wrote.

The ‘super-fluid essence uses cleverly optimised broad-spectrum UVA/UVB filters to help protect daily against damaging UV rays, as well as helping protect from indoor and outdoor pollution,’ according to The Body Shop’s website.

This new SPF product falls on the slightly higher end of the price scale, in comparison to Garnier’s £7 sun cream. But if it delivers on protection, invisibility, and leaves skin feeling good, it’s well worth the investment.
