You can now book a personal stylist to send you an outfit in the post

With non-essential shops closed (still) until 12 April, we have all spent a lot of time online shopping in the past 12 months. While some of us love the thrill of online shopping, nabbing a steal in a sale and waiting for the postman to arrive namely, many of us hate scrolling endlessly looking for a gem only for it to arrive a week later and fit not quite right. If you find yourself in the latter camp, perhaps it is time we introduced you to Stitch Fix.

Launched in San Francisco by Katrina Lake, Stitch Fix is a subscription-free personal styling service. In brief, you complete a short online survey about your style and a stylist will create a curated edit of five items based on your size, style and budget.

On a date of your choice, the five items arrive in the post and you can keep what you love and return the rest. If, however, you love it all and buy all five items, you can save 20 per cent on the price of the entire order. Deal!

Wondering what you might receive? Digital Editor, Georgia, gave the personal styling service a go and was pleasantly surprised; ‘I was able to preview my Fix a week before it arrived and give feedback on the items my stylist had put together which was a nice touch and reassured me that they understood my style! When it arrived, I couldn’t fault the fit of any of the items and particularly loved the Whistles collared blouse that they picked out for me’.

If you’re hard-pressed for time or are looking to avoid the crowds then when stores reopen in April, Stitch Fix could be the solution. Alternatively, if you’re bored of your current wardrobe and need a little help stepping out of your comfort zone, you can write this in your Stitch Fix notes and your stylist can introduce you to new brands and lesser-known labels.

With items from £40 to £160, Stitch Fix promises to keep your Fix within budget too – all you need to do is let your stylist know how much you’re comfortable paying for each item when you fill out your style survey.

Just like most online retailers, Stitch Fix offers free delivery and returns too so no qualms if you are unhappy with your Fix.

We don’t know about you but we’re tempted to book in a Fix for a special 21 June outfit!
