This is the secret to shopping at Zara like a pro

The post-Christmas sale season is now in full swing, which is great if you’re on the hunt for a bargain – but can also feel a little overwhelming with the amount of cut price, snap-it-up-while-you-can options on offer, especially when it comes to go-to high street stores like Zara.

However, if you’re not sure of where to start, there are some simple tips that can help you to identify the truly amazing buys, at least according to chic French blogger, Aria Di Bari.

Speaking to style site Who What Wear during a recent interview, Aria, who has built her career in fashion and design, revealed the secrets she uses to whittle down the best purchases at the popular store.

For instance, Aria has a checklist of the best items to turn to Zara for, and top of the list is footwear. ‘Zara shoes are always the prettiest!’ she exclaims. ‘I mostly buy leather boots and heels, and sometimes I borrow sandals from my mum. As well as shoes, I would always buy the blazers as they are very well tailored. The trousers are [also] usually well fitted.’

When she’s in store, Aria also says the mannequins usually provide the best source of inspiration. ‘I’m usually very picky about the fabric, but I studied fashion so it’s easier for me to spot clothes made of quality material,’ she explains. ‘I also look at the mannequins, as Zara usually puts all of its nicest clothes on them.’

Another trick for a more high-end look is to look to the Zara Woman section, rather than the cheaper Trafaluc offering. ‘It’s a little bit more expensive, but the fabric is usually nicer and the clothes are well-fitted and last longer in my opinion,’ says Aria.

And if you’re looking for something with serious wow factor, Aria recommends Zara’s more intricate embroidered and printed pieces – not only do they look more luxe than their price tag would suggest, they’ll become statement staples that you’ll pull out year after year.

Searching through the rails just got a whole lot simpler…
