Sainsbury’s is expanding its beauty offering with some seriously impressive names

The aisles of your local supermarket might not the first place you head to when you need to top up your make-up or skincare stash, but the next time you step into a Sainsbury’s, you’ll be seriously impressed at just how many essentials you can now buy in store.

After a successful trial in eight branches, the retailer is rolling out a new beauty concept that will see a massive expansion of its offering – not only will there be a huge increase in floor space devoted to personal care, that space will be filled with a staggering 1,400 new products, from leading brands including Korres, Balance Me, Bondi Sands, Nip + Fab and Weleda.

Even better, there’ll be trained beauty advisers on hand seven days a week to help you navigate the new lines, many of which are supermarket exclusives.

Back in June, it was revealed that Sanctuary Spa products were being stocked by Sainsbury’s – a happy marriage of two of our favourite iconically-orange brands. Now we know this was the first step in what would prove to be a huge beauty focus for the shop, and we can’t wait for the opportunity to add even more luxury treats to our trollies.

Sainsbury's beauty expansion

By the end of 2019, the new Sainsbury’s beauty section will be rolled out to 100 stores across the country, including Milton Keynes and Haywards Heath. But while you wait, you can browse the selection on the Sainsbury’s website, which is already stocking the third-party names.

Not only does this mean you can get your favourites delivered directly to your door with your weekly order, it also allows you to pick up some bonus Nectar points when you purchase.

And while you’re in the market – literally or figuratively – for a Sainsbury’s beauty bargain, don’t forget to check out its own affordable cosmetics collection, Boutique.

YOU beauty director Edwina Ings-Chambers is a big fan, particularly when it comes to the £5 Contouring Palette and the £3 Velvet Blusher, which she says is ‘one of the best blushes I’ve ever used.’ How’s that for a recommendation?
