An escape from the hustle and bustle of your everyday norm, Royal Hideaway Corales Beach in Tenerife is the perfect destination to fully immerse yourself in a carefree, relaxed and indulgent weekend or a blissful week away. It opened in February 2018 on an island where, for apparently 355 days of the year, you can enjoy the blazing sun – good weather is almost certainly guaranteed.
Driving up to the recently opened five star resort located on the Costa Adeje, you cannot help but notice the design led luxury build set at the end of a number of hotels alike with stars. It does well to stand out amongst the crowd with its pristine white curved walls and glass details. Designed by interior designers MKV London Studio and Spanish architect Leonardo Omar, the exterior is only a note to the luxury that follows. The contemporary design takes inspiration from natural elements with the use of coral cut material, stone and wood.
You make your way to the room through the open air corridors, taking in the sea breeze keen to see what awaits on the other side. Every room is well designed with balconies that look out onto the hotel gardens and pool, views reaching out to the beach and Atlantic Ocean – it does not take you long to feel completely settled and relaxed. The host for the 2 night stay was a huge open plan junior suite (there are 121 junior suites in the adult only side) with a very comfy large bed (about 5 pillows which I am a big fan of, plus a pillow menu to pick your suited type), a large bath as you enter the room, walking through into the lounge area and out to the balcony where you can sit at the dining table or relax on the double sofa bed taking in the view that travels for miles.
Just across the way the Royal hideaway accommodates for families with a number of suites and villas to select from. The family friendly rooms can range from a one to three bed, including a having your own living room, kitchen and terrace – with 54 including a private heated pool. It is the perfect fit for up to six people to stay, what more could you ask for! As you walk into the reception on this part of the complex you are greeted with a cave inspired wall with visual effects projected upon it to keep your children well entertained – it makes for an impressive show. If you are in need of a slow morning but the kids are keen to be outside this is the perfect win for all of you.
The hotel sits in a quiet part of Tenerife suiting its peaceful atmosphere, you are however only a stone throw away from the main strip that is well known as a go to destination for British tourists. If the busyness of this doesn’t suit you, finding yourself in the hotel and their grounds will ensure you are kept away on the quiet road and you will be none the wiser to any other part of the island. Here lies the perfect base for exploring what the island has to offer as well enjoying pure peace and bliss.
The adult’s only spa and wellness space has been designed to be a peaceful place to relax and unwind. You can enjoy a range of treatments in the spa or perhaps treat yourself to a massage in one of the seven private luxury spa suites. You can also visit the modern and well equipped gym while you are there, have a leisurely work out or ask for a PT to put you through your paces. Facilities also include a heated pool with hydro-massage jets, waterfalls, along with a sauna, sensation showers, and a barber/beauty shop.
There is also a kids club to keep the youngsters entertained while you relax.
The hotel also offers bespoke experiences to showcase the islands offerings, such as star gazing with a trained astronomer; helicopter, Ferrari and boat tours around the island; private visits to local attractions such as going to the local wineries; and deep sea fishing.
The hotel has nine restaurants with four exclusively for guests staying at the adults-only Corales Beach. Dining options will range from an a la carte to buffet style menu and will take guests on a healthy gastronomic experience around the world. If you want to stay in the comforts of your suite you can enjoy an in room dining experience, enjoy having a personal chef cook for you in your own kitchen or cook with the chef.
The resort is located on the southern end of Tenerife overlooking Playa Enramada beach and sitting next to the picturesque town of La Caleta. It is just 23km from Tenerife South Airport; 6.8km from Siam Park Water Park and 40km from Teide National Park. You can also take a free transfer from the hotel to play golf at Golf Costa Adeje (27 holes) or visit one of the other five golf courses that sit within a 20km radius from the hotel. There are also water sports options, whale and dolphin watching excursions and routes for hiking.
Rates at Royal Hideaway Corales Beach for a Junior Suite start from €300 per room, per night on a bed and breakfast basis; for a Deluxe Suite from €400 per room, per night on a bed and breakfast basis. barcelo.com
