Roaming Delilah – the luxury camping experience for when you need to pick up and escape.

Never has the staycation had more of a moment – with international travel still somewhat restricted we have all been looking to the UK for our holiday solutions. But that hasn’t been without its complications as everywhere looks to raise their prices and sell out dates months in advance.

Enter Roaming Delilah, a luxe campervan fitted with everything you need to disappear and enjoy all the UK has to offer. Powered by solar and rechargeable battery or gas, it has a fantastic heating system making it suitable for use all year round.

Collection near London was simple, and arriving and setting up at PineWoods campsite in North Norfolk could not have been easier. Being November the cold was a worry, but Delilah is warm and cosy and incredibly user-friendly.

The campsite was on the sea front and while in August we may have been surrounded by other holiday seekers it was quiet, remote and so peaceful. With cute pubs, stunning walks and amazing food options on our doorstep it really felt like a luxe experience with all the charm of camping!

Equipped with gorgeous linens (and an amazing duvet), a movie projector, BBQ, a hot shower, speakers, fire pit, crystal glasses, all your cooking essentials and a fab fridge freezer we definitely had everything we needed for comfort on the move.

The kitchen has a double ring gas stove, an Omnia oven (if you know you know) and a stove top expresso machine. The wet room is equipped with a power shower and swivel flushing toilet. In the living area, a king size sofa bed can be transformed three ways as a seating area and then fits into the most perfect comfortable mattress (between the sea air and the bedding you are almost guaranteed a great nights sleep!)

Day time lounging was lots of fun, with neutral ground rugs, retro deck chairs, floor cushions and a sun canopy for shade. Plus, Delilah’s built in blackout curtain doubles up as screen for an indulgent cinema experience.

A personal highlight was that Delilah came stocked with ingredients to make Smores and Hot Chocolate with a liqueur of rum and amaretto, from a local mixologist.

With winter weddings and Christmas round the corner this camper van offers the perfect alternative to over crowding and stepping on each others toes – just park her up in the driveway instead. And, when traveling longer distances you can stop whenever you fancy and tick the kettle on or for much further distances you can stop and rest. I don’t know that it gets much more luxe than having a toilet to hand at any point on long journeys!

The company behind Roaming Delilah, wellheeledhippy offer a catalogue of unique, hip wonderful campsites that are tried, tested and “Delilah” approved. Or if you decide to totally off grid they can help you build an itinerary to take you into the wild. Prices start at just £150 for tailored concierge.
