It’s hard to believe it but this year iconic sitcom Friends turns 25. Yep, it’s been an entire quarter of a century since we were first introduced to our favourite gang of five navigating adulthood in New York City, and quite frankly, life has never been the same since.
So to mark the milestone, designer Ralph Lauren has teamed up with Warner Bros to create a special Rachel Green collection.
Fans of the show will know that Rachel was the fashionista of the group. Not only did she serve some serious looks throughout the 10 seasons of the sitcom but the character, played by Jennifer Aniston, also worked in both Bloomingdales and Ralph Lauren – with the designer himself making a cameo in one of the early episodes of Friends.
Now, the household fashion name is working with Bloomingdales and Warner Bros to curate a real-life work wear collection inspired by Rachel Green and her many chic office looks, according to Harpers Bazaar.
Designed to recreate some of the characters most distinctive 90s and early 00s looks, the Wear To Work collection will include everything from leather trousers, pinstriped suits and mini skirts to polo necks and hints of leopard print.
Best of all? The pieces will be sold as part of Polo Ralph Lauren and Ralph Lauren Collection, which, while still not cheap, means they will be significantly more affordable than the high-end offerings from the brands. Prices start from £120 – a decent price to pay for a pop culture-meets-fashion collab.
The collection will available in the very same Bloomingdales in New York that Rachel Green worked in, and the department store will also be recreating Rachel’s office on the third floor which means fans can get the full experience by transforming into their favourite character for the day.
But don’t worry, the entire collection will also be sold online from today meaning you can still get your hands on your favourite pieces without travelling across the pond.
The 25th Anniversary of Friends is taking place this Sunday on 22 September with fans around the world celebrating in their own way.
