We love finding out about the royals’ habits – it gives us a chance to feel at least a little bit similar to one of the most famous families in the world. And, it turns out you’ve probably spent a fair few Saturday nights doing exactly the same thing as the royal family, according to some information recently dropped by the Duchess of Cornwall.
Camilla revealed that the Queen, and the whole royal family, enjoy watching Strictly Come Dancing. So much so, that they all got totally absorbed in the most recent series of the TV show and voted for Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice to win.
Last week, Camilla and husband Prince Charles visited the set of soap opera EastEnders and spoke to the cast, including Rose.
According to Mail Online, Camilla was full of praise for Rose and her couple’s choice performance, which has also been nominated for a BAFTA. The emotional dance included a silent segment to honour the British Sign Language community.
When Camilla met Rose, she reportedly said: ‘Rose, the Strictly star. I said we were all voting for Rose, I don’t know how you did all those dances.’
Rose then asked: ‘Does the Queen watch Strictly Come Dancing?’
To which Camilla replied: ‘I think she does. She probably watched you.’
Rose later told the publication: ‘It was really funny because she’s a huge fan of Strictly Come Dancing and she mentioned that she voted for me which is so lovely, and her grandchildren watch it. It is amazing, so lovely. I mean come on, its the Royal family voting for me, sometimes you forget how many people watch the show, I am mind-blown.’
This isn’t the first time we’ve found out more about the royal family’s TV habits either. It’s previously been revealed that the Queen enjoys watching Downton Abbey and the Cambridge’s are hooked on Killing Eve.
