Yesterday marked what would have been Princess Diana’s 60th birthday. Prince William and Prince Harry unveiled a statue of their late mother at Kensington Palace to mark the occasion, with the brothers saying in a joint statement: ‘Our hope is that this statue will be seen forever as a symbol of her life and her legacy.’
Alongside her charity work, Princess Diana’s legacy also lies in her fashion sense. A true fashion icon still to this day, her ‘Sloane Ranger’ style has been copied hundreds of times, with Instagram accounts, such as @ladydirevengelooks, dedicated to documenting her best outfits.
And while she rocked countless different stylish looks, it seems there was one pair of shoes that she came back to time and again. Tod’s moccasins were often seen on the feet of the people’s princess, more specifically the brand’s Gommino moccasin.
Diana loved her comfortable flats so much that she owned them in multiple colours, including pale blue and beige suede. The Gommino driving shoe is a classic style that is still sold by the Italian label today, proving just what a timeless style of shoe the Princess Diana Tod’s moccasins are – and therefore certainly worth investing in for yourself.
The Princess Diana Tod’s moccasins are made of suede and leather and feature the brand’s iconic rubber pebble outsole, exposed hand-stitching, Penny bar and the Tod’s monogram hot-stamped on.
Above, Diana can be seen carrying a Tod’s bag, proving what a fan she was of the brand. The bag was eventually renamed after her as the D-bag, which can still be purchased today for £2,150. The bag also received a revamp in 2019 as the D-Styling, which comes in a range of colours and sizes.
