We can always count on Primark to make trending styles affordable for the majority of people. The high street store is renowned for, let’s say, ‘getting inspired’ by more expensive brands. This summer, it has created some seriously similar dupes of bestselling items. And guess what? Yep, Primark has done it again with its latest summer range that could easily be mistaken for Scandi designer Ganni.
Frill textured check midi dress, £15, Primark
It features bold check prints and subdued tones of black, white, grey, beige and yellow – all of which are synonymous with Ganni’s signature designs.
Primark’s summer range also includes the puff sleeves, and ruffled necklines and hems that we’ve been seeing all over Instagram this season. Ganni has led the way in these checked styles, with its Seersucker midi dresses dominating our feeds in particular.
Beige Check Print Textured Balloon Sleeve Top, £13, and Textured Frill Skirt, £10, Primark
Although the designs bear a strong resemblance to each other, there’s a huge difference when it comes to price. The Primark summer range starts from just £6 for a pair of sandals. The most expensive item in the release is this checked midi dress (below), which comes in at £18.
Beige Check Print Textured Frill Midi Dress, £18, Primark
Unless items are in the sale, it’s not unusual to pay upwards of £100 for similar styles from Ganni. If you’ve had your eye on Ganni’s designs, Primark’s summer silhouettes could give you that designer look, for much less.
Recently, Primark shared a £20 pair of its pyjamas on Instagram that look almost identical to Olivia von Halle’s £460 silk pyjamas. The shop’s Instagram followers also went wild for its £10 strappy summer sandals that could have been mistaken for & Other Stories.
It’s not just the fashion buys that shoppers can make savings on, either. TikTok users have also been impressed with Primark’s £4 dupe of the Chanel cream bronzer, as well as its rattan jug that’s basically the same as a much pricier one from John Lewis.
