These £8 Primark sandals are a perfect dupe for a £420 Prada pair

We love it when we can get a designer look for less and thankfully Primark has come up with an absolute steal of a dupe that’s not to be missed.

Any avid trend followers know that ‘dad sandals‘ – chunky sandals, often sporting velcro and/or buckles, that look a bit like walking sandals – are extremely ‘in’ right now. It’s one of the most comfortable trends around (something we couldn’t be more thankful for), with brands such as Birkenstock and Teva leading the way. And now even the designer brands are knocking up their own versions of the style, such as Prada’s very own Nomad sandals.

As stylish, comfortable and expertly crafted as they look, the £420 price tag is less than enviable, relegating them to the dream shoe wardrobe in our head.

So when we spotted that Primark has designed an extremely similar pair of sandals, we were more than a bit excited. Nearly identical to Prada’s Nomads on first glance, the high street pair are also all-black and feature the same fabric strap design with velcro fastening and rubber sole. The only think missing is the Prada logo – oh, and the eye-watering price tag. The high street retailer’s version of the dad sandal are just £8, saving you a cool £412.

While Prada’s sandals feature Italian craftsmanship and leather trims, there’s no denying that Primark’s budget version will do the trick in terms of ticking the trend box and not looking entirely dissimilar from it’s designer counterpart – all for a lot, lot less money.

The versatility of the dad sandal means you’ll certainly get your costs per wear – especially at just £8! Their comfort factor makes them an ideal companion for long days spent walking or on your feet, and the plain black colourway means they’ll go with virtually every outfit – try them with a feminine dress to toughen up the look, wear with jeans for a casual combo or even with tailoring for the office.
