In a dream world, most us would have a pair of designer shoes on our feet every single day. But reality – and more to the point, our bank balances – often get in the way, which is why we get so excited when we find great dupes for more expensive styles on the high street.
Enter Primark’s purse-friendly (as in, change from a £20 note-friendly) patent knee-high mock croc boots, which were just unveiled on Instagram to the excitement of fans who noted their similarity to a far more premium pair.
‘These boots were made for walking into the most wonderful time of the year,’ the brand quipped, sharing a snap of the shiny new shoes on its account, in a post which quickly gained more than 50,000 likes.
The response from customers was also overwhelming in terms of comments: ‘Oh my god I need these boots!!!!’ exclaimed one commenter, followed by another who wrote: ‘how expensive do these look!!’
‘These boots 😍😍 Prada dupes,’ a third added, suggesting that the chic shape, block heel and patent finish of the boots rival those of big designer names.
Indeed, a pair of patent knee-high boots from high-end label Prada would set you back a slightly eye-watering £930, so if you’d been saving for something more expensive, the Primark alternative could represent quite the significant saving.

The only downside? Despite ongoing pleas from shoppers across the country, Primark has yet to jump on the online shopping bandwagon, so you’ll have to head down to your local branch if you’re hoping to get your hands on a pair of your very own. The size ranges at the store are impressively broad, ranging from a UK women’s 2 to a 9, so fingers crossed yours stays in stock until you can get there in person.
During your visit, we’d recommend taking the opportunity to browse the brand’s recently launched Limited Edition edit. If you like Primark’s fancy footwear, you’ll love this equally luxe-looking line.
