Cadbury is easily at the forefront of choccie innovations – since its inception nearly 200 years ago in Birmingham, the brand has been coming up with new chocolatey treats for us to indulge in and enjoy.
And last year, the brand created quite the hysteria with the first flavour evolution of the classic Cadbury Twirl to hit the UK: the Orange Twirl.
Easily one of Cadbury’s most beloved chocolate bars since it was first brought to the shelves in the 1970s, Twirls are sticks of flaky Cadbury chocolate smothered in a hard outer shell of, yes, more delicious milk chocolate. What’s not to love?
We didn’t think they could improve on the recipe but, inject some zesty orange flavouring into the mix and we were proved so wrong – in the best way. If the ‘frenzy’ that was caused by their arrival in the YOU offices last year was anything to go by and how quickly the bars disappeared off the shelves, the Twirl Orange was welcomed with very open arms by the nation.
So Cadbury has done us Brits a favour and brought the delicious, flaky, orangey-chocolate back – but only for a limited time. They’ll be launching in shops across the UK from mid-September for 69p, but if you can’t wait that long to get your hands on a bar, Cadbury is also holding the world’s first ever chocolate pre-sale.
Last year Twirl Oranges were hard to find, so this year we’re doing a presale before they hit the shops.

Starting tomorrow (18 August) at 12pm BST, eager fans just need to tweet @CadburyUK with the hashtag #TwirlOrangePresale and the first 5,000 people to do so will be sent a unique single-use redemption code with a secret link to where to buy it online. Anyone who buys a Twirl Orange this way will have it delivered with no postage charge and with some additional Orange Twirl collectible items.
And don’t worry, if you’re busy tomorrow or miss the alarm we know you’re going to set, another pre-sale will take place in the exact same way on Thursday 20 August.
If you struggled to hunt down a Twirl Orange last year, don’t worry as Cadbury have promised they’ve produced even more bars this year so there are more to go around – they are still limited edition though, so they won’t hang around forever!
