The chocolate orange Toblerone has landed in a supermarket near you

This is a pretty big week for fans of chocolate orange. On Monday, Cadbury revealed that they’re bringing back their hit chocolate Orange Twirl, with the first lucky 5,000 people who tweeted the company using the hashtag #TwirlOrangePresale receiving a unique single-use redemption code with a secret link to where to buy it online. (Seriously, chocolate orange is quite the hot commodity.)

And now, Toblerone have revealed that they too are launching a citrus-flavoured bar, with Swiss milk chocolate, candied orange peel with ginger, and honey and almond nougat.

The chocolate orange Toblerone is already available at Tesco both in-store and online – where it is currently on offer for £4, a 50p saving from the regular price of £4.50 – and is due to be rolled out across other stores in the next few weeks.

Instagram account @newfoodsuk shared an image of the new Toblerone flavour, saying: ‘NEW Orange Twist Toblerone at Tesco! Yes, another orange product, however, we do love orange flavoured chocolate, so win win!!’

Fans of the Swiss chocolate treat were excited at the new flavour announcement, with comments such as: ‘we are truly being spoilt’, ‘it’s all about orange at the moment’, ‘Tobz but on a whole new level !’, ‘the orange takeover has begun’, and ‘OMGGGG 2020 the year of the [orange emoji]’ – we couldn’t have said it better ourselves!

And they’re not wrong, the ‘orange takeover’ truly is upon us. As well as the Toblerone and Twirl, Cadbury’s have also announced  new chocolate orange flavours in their Giant Chocolate Buttons and Fingers.

Not everyone is sold on the zesty combination though. ‘Don’t know how I feel about this but it’s would be rude not to try right?’ one Instagram user commented.

We don’t know about you, but we are 100 per cent on board with the chocolate orange revolution of 2020. Long may it continue!
