No7 just launched a Pure Retinol range to expand on the success of its fastest-selling product ever

Retinol is the secret beauty weapon used in all skincare products worth buying, especially if a youthful glow is what you’re after. So, it’s no surprise that we can’t get enough of it. One brand that nails retinol-based products like no other is No7, which is why we couldn’t be more excited about the brand’s new Pure Retinol Collection.

Following in the footsteps of the brand’s iconic Advanced Retinol 1.5% Complex Night Concentrate – which was the fastest-selling single product on Boots.com, with one sold every 1.8 seconds at launch and remains the number one Retinol product sold by the retailer today – No7 has released a collection of new retinol products catering to all skin tones.

According to the brand, the new range is designed with lower, active levels of retinol to deliver a broad range of noticeable benefits across multiple skin types and ethnicities. It has also been specifically formulated to be kinder on skin and minimise irritation.

The launch comes after research by No7 found that 56 per cent of people in the UK with non-White skin tones do not feel represented by the skincare industry, voicing a lack of products that are designed for them. Thus, the brand has taken it into its own hands to bridge the gap by increasing the diversity of its consumer panel by 121 per cent, educating its 1,600 Beauty Advisors and its latest campaign, ‘We See You.’

The Pure Retinol Collection is made up of three new products including an updated No7 Pure Retinol Night Eye Cream priced at £24.95, No7 Pure Retinol Night Cream for £34.95 and No7 Pure Retinol Hand Cream priced at £14.95, all of which aim to deliver noticeable anti-ageing benefits whilst also tackling an array of skin concerns, from acne and hyperpigmentation to fine lines and dullness.

‘Retinol is the gold standard ingredient in skincare but there are some misconceptions that it can’t be used on darker skin tones,’ explains aesthetician and founder of Black Skin Directory Dija Ayodele. ‘All skin cells, no matter the skin ethnicity or tone, have special receptors that work hand in hand with Retinol to activate and plump your collagen and elastin reserves as well as fade discolouration and smooth the texture of your skin. It’s exciting to see a brand like No7 leading the way in creating a Retinol that is available and accessible to everyone with the launch of its new Pure Retinol range.’

Similarly, Richard Bowden, No7 Beauty Company’s UK Marketing Director, commented on the new launch, saying: ‘As a brand, we are committed to bringing amazing science to everyone because we believe that expertly designed skincare is for all.’

He continues: ‘Following the success of the original No7 Retinol launch we’re excited to launch the new range extension but also show how as a brand we are listening to our customers, seeing them and recognising what we need to do as a key player in the beauty industry to be more inclusive.’
