Next has teamed up with luxury accessory line Hill & Friends – the brainchild of former Mulberry creative director Emma Hill and brand director Georgia Fendley, no less – for an exclusive line of bags that carry their signature smiley face at a more affordable price point.

There are four different designs to choose from: a clutch (£65), cross-body bag (£89), camera bag (£95), and tote (£119), many with multiple colourways including bright red leather and green suede.

Our personal favourite is the leopard-print cross-body with contrasting black detailing, but it would appear that  we’re not the only ones, as that particular style is already marked as low in stock.

While £65+ for a bag isn’t inexpensive – especially when you consider than Next’s own-brand bag offering starts from around £15 for a clutch – these are high-end pieces that are built to last.

Plus, a Hill and Friends bag would usually set you back at least £250, so if you love the look, it’s a great way to get it for a little less.

‘We want to share the friendly face of fashion and create products that make our customers swoon, smile, walk a little taller and feel a little stronger,’ Emma and Georgia, who founded their brand in 2015, say on their website.

‘We care passionately about our quality, our sourcing, our staff, our partners and each other. We are independent, founder owned and not afraid to do things differently.’
