Have you discovered the joys of Next’s Label Mix yet? The premium collections see the store collaborate with exciting up-and-coming designers and niche brands to bring their designs to the masses, and its latest partnership was one of the most exciting ones yet.
Back in August, Next teamed up with luxury accessory line Hill & Friends – the brainchild of former Mulberry creative director Emma Hill and brand director Georgia Fendley, no less – for an exclusive line of bags that carry their signature smiley face at a more affordable price point.
There were four different designs to choose from: a clutch (£65), cross-body bag (£89), camera bag (£95), and tote (£119), many with multiple colourways including bright red leather and green suede.
Our personal favourite was the leopard-print cross-body with contrasting black detailing, but unsurprisingly, we weren’t the only ones loving the looks, as almost all of the styles sold out completely not long after the drop.
But for those who missed the boat the first time around, all is not lost, as not only has the collection been restocked, there’s a new option to fall in love with: a silver bag with contrasting gold rivet detail that’s perfect for party season.
While £65+ for a bag isn’t inexpensive – especially when you consider than Next’s own-brand bag offering starts from around £15 for a clutch – these are high-end pieces that are built to last.
Plus, a Hill & Friends bag would usually set you back at least £250, so if you love the look, it’s a great way to get it for a little less.
‘We want to share the friendly face of fashion and create products that make our customers swoon, smile, walk a little taller and feel a little stronger,’ Emma and Georgia, who founded their brand in 2015, say on their website.
