Who are the cast?

While the full cast has not yet been revealed, Netflix has announced that the key members for The I-Land will be American actresses Kate Bosworth and Natalie Martinez (who recently starred in ABC sci-fi thriller The Crossing, which was cancelled after one season) and Magic Mike star Alex Pettyfer. Bosworth had also been appointed as a producer on the show, while filmmaker Neil LaBute will direct the series.

‘Thank you @netflix ⚡️? So excited to be a part of the family!!! Can’t wait for you all to see what we have in store for you ? … #I-LAND (swipe ➡️ to read more about it ??) beyond grateful to be working with brilliant creator Neil LaBute ??,’ Bosworth wrote in an Instagram post.

What is it about?

The I-Land will be a seven-part series that follows 10 people as they wake up isolated on a treacherous island with no memory of who they are or how they even got there. Following this, their only concern is to search for a way back home, but first they must negotiate psychological and physical challenges. Sounds familiar, right? No wonder it is being hailed the new Lost.

Netflix announced the news, tweeting: ‘The I-Land is a totally new series starring @katebosworth and created by filmmaker Neil LaBute about 10 people who wake up on an island with their memories totally wiped. Also, the island is trying to kill them.’

When will it air?

At the moment, the show is in the pre-production stages so the release date is yet to be confirmed. But fingers crossed it’ll be ready and available to stream early next year!
