Myleene Klass on the workout regime that keeps her in such incredible shape

As she launches her first ever fitness programme, Myleene Klass gets honest about the weekly regime that keeps her in such incredible shape…

Monday
I always find Mondays tricky because the weekend throws everyone out of sync! During the colder months I’ll get earlier to make my children their porridge. I do the school run then, once I’m back home, I move the coffee table and the lamp out of the way and put on my MyBody workout in the sitting room for 20 or 30 minutes before work. Boxing is ideal for a Monday morning – I get a good sweat and wake myself up.

Tuesday
I’ll make mental notes through the day though to take the stairs instead of the lift or escalators, and not to go crazy with my snacking when I’m doing shoots or in meetings.

Wednesday
I usually feel the pain by Wednesday – it’s good pain though! This will be a strength day from my fitness programme, using my sandbell. It’s really effective and versatile as well as user-friendly for your home – no one wants to drop a dumbbell on their floor! As long as I get in a minimum of three workouts per week, I’m super happy with that.

Thursday
I take this as my rest day, but I make sure I fill up on juice, water, veg and chicken and protein. These foods are all good for energy as by the end of the week I feel tired and start thinking about reaching for chocolate!

Friday
This is my core training day, using exercises from my DVD. I have never had abs like the ones I have now, not even when I was a dancer nearly 20 years ago and performing in the West End for eight shows per week. The exercises in this part of the programme are tough but effective. They definitely get results but you have to dig deep!

Saturday
My friend is training for the London Marathon and she has managed to sign me and my girls up for our local Park Run. At 9am we all bundle into the car, drive to the park and start the run, which is usually a 5k. I wasn’t sure if it would be too much for the girls – especially my youngest – but they love it so much. We usually just go at our own pace and let everyone lap us. Then we head to a local cafe for a celebratory brunch!

Sunday
My day off! This normally involves a roast with family or friends. It’s my day to chill out, although I may manage an after lunch stroll on Hampstead Heath, or we’ll head to the park if the weather’s good.
