Marks and Spencer’s Per Una has had a makeover. Previously sitting at the somewhat stuffier end of the scene, the line has been reinvigorated with flattering silhouettes, contemporary prints and textures and on-trend details, and there’s one particular hero piece leading the charge.
The brand’s £55 floral midi shirt dress is front and centre in stores right now, and if our calculations – deduced from the price, the fit, and the overwhelming response on Instagram – are correct, it could well be the next in line to the sellout dress throne.
Part of the A/W edit, which the brand describes as boasting ‘feminine prints and youthful styles’, the outfit has already proved to be a big hit with customers online, prompting reviewers to agree that ‘Per Una has upped its game.’
‘I would have avoided Per Una like the plague, the last 20 years and I am 60 next year!’ one exclaimed. ‘However, it is all change now and they have some lovely pieces. I think this is a top buy for the price.’
Another dubbed it ‘stunning’, adding that its ‘fabulous colour combinations look great with suede olive green boots.’
In it’s online shoot, M&S has paired the dress with its £59 Leather Hiker Ankle Boots, proving that the dress can also tap into this season’s lace-up boot trend with ease, but it will also partner up effortlessly with trainers, loafers, or heels.
Coat-wise, it would look equally chic layered under a cosy shearling as it would teamed with a statement shiny vinyl mac, and the shirt collar means you can add a rollneck underneath when it gets too chilly to wear it solo.
