This £2 canned drink has been voted the best pre-mixed cocktail by Which?

With a heatwave upon us, we’ve reached peak picnic and BBQ weather, which means stocking up on your favourite summer tipple, and coming up with clever ways to transport it and keep it cool. Luckily, premixed cocktails are aplenty in the shops and make for brilliant solutions for outdoor occasions where you don’t have a mixer and lots of glass bottles on hand.

With so many on offer, it can be tough to know which premixed cocktails actually taste like the real thing and are worth it, but luckily, Which? has done the hard work so we don’t have to.

Which? taste-tested a selection of different premixed cocktails including mojito options from  Barcardi, Asda, Aldi, and Tesco, and decided that the very best was actually Marks & Spencer’s, which will only set you back £2 per can.

The 13 taste testers praised the M&S Mojito Can because it tasted most like a homemade mojito, largely due to the fact it includes two measures of rum unlike the others tested. Out of 13, four said M&S’ premixed Mojito Can was better than a homemade version and 12 people said they would buy it again.

While M&S’ Mojito Can performed best in the taste test, Asda’s bargain £1 can came in a close second, while Aldi’s Old Hopking Mojito Cocktail took third place.

Speaking about the results, Matthew Knight, Which? Product Testing Expert, told The Daily mail FEMAIL: ‘Nothing beats enjoying a refreshing minty mojito in the sunshine, and while premixed cans have made it easier than ever to get your hands on one, our taste test shows when it comes to flavour and taste M&S’ mojito can is miles better than the own-label and branded competition.’

‘For an affordable yet tasty mojito, people could also consider picking up an own-label can from Asda or Aldi rather than Barcadi’s premixed can, which tastes nothing like the real deal.’
