Summer may not be off to the best start thanks to the gloomy weather, but that isn’t stopping Marks & Spencer from doing its bit to brighten up the season in its own special way. The retail giant has just launched four new cocktails in cans for Brits to enjoy come rain or shine, and they all sound delicious.
We’re all well aware by now that M&S is the reigning hero when it comes to canned cocktails, thanks to its original offerings which include the canned mojito, pina colada, cosmopolitan and pornstar martini – not to mention its classic gin and tonic in a can.
Now, the supermarket has extended the range by introducing four new delicious flavours – the cherry spritzer, peach spritzer, aperitivo spritzer and last but not least, vermouth and tonic.
Each tin contains 5.5 per cent VOL, and like the originals, will only set you back £2 a pop. So what can we expect from each cocktail?
Well according to the brand, the cherry sprizter, which is made with cherry juice and a delicate Spanish rose, ‘will add a summer vibe to any occasion.’ Meanwhile the peach spritzer is described as ‘a lightly sparkling blend of sweet peach juice and crisp Spanish white wine’.
‘Tthis is a fruity festival favourite,’ M&S says. ‘One to get the party started!’
As for the aperitivo spritz, M&S describes it as a ‘classic blend of white wine and fragrant orange bitters’ – in other words, if you’re a fan of Aperol Spritz, then you’ll love this.
Finally, the vermouth and tonic. ‘This popular combo is a refreshing must-have for sunny festival days,’ says M&S. ‘Indian tonic water is the perfect match for crisp vermouth in this lightly sparkling cocktail.’ Yum!
Each can offers its own taste of a British summer – so whatever you fancy, there’s guaranteed to be something for you on the shelves in your local store. Cheers to that!
