M&S has just launched a brand new cocktail in a can

Summer may not be off to the best start thanks to the gloomy weather, but that hasn’t stopped Marks & Spencer from doing its bit to brighten up the season in its own special way. The retail giant has just launched a brand new cocktail in a can for Brits to enjoy come rain or shine, and they it sounds delicious.

The new Strawberry Daiquiri, which costs £2, launched a few days ago, and M&S has already sold 25,000 cans.

This fruity little number is a far cry from the ubiquitous neon-coloured frozen daiquiris on every bar menu in the 1990s though – M&S doesn’t use artificial colours or flavourings in its cocktails.

Jenny Rea, Lead Product Developer for M&S tinnies, said: ‘We know customer nostalgia for the 1990s is at an all-time high, and so we’ve brought back the iconic cocktail of the decade but given it that signature M&S upgrade – no brain freeze or artificial colours here! This strawberry daiquiri is truly so delicious you can drink it straight out of the can, or serve it to friends in cocktail glasses and pretend you’ve made it yourself!’

We’re all well aware by now that M&S is the reigning hero when it comes to canned cocktails, thanks to its original offerings which include the canned mojito, pina colada, cosmopolitan and pornstar martini – not to mention its classic gin and tonic in a can.
