Wedding planning is up their with one of the toughest and most time consuming tasks around. You have to plan a venue, the guest list, the catering and your vows, and that’s before you’ve even thought about the perfect dress.
However, on top of all of that, you have to plan what many of us would describe as the best bit of it all – your honeymoon.
With so many beautiful places in the world, it can be hard to pick the one that is right for you. Exotic islands like the Maldives, Seychelles and Mauritius have always been popular spots for newlyweds. But according to recent research, there’s one European destination that all newlyweds will be flocking to in 2020 – Switzerland.
Anyone who has ever been to Switzerland knows that it is one of the most breathtakingly stunning and scenic places, in not only Europe but the world. However, it has often been overlooked by other popular destinations such as Italy, France and Greece by those looking for a romantic getaway.
However, according to new results from Pinterest, pins for Switzerland as a honeymoon destination are up 856 per cent since 2017, meaning it is hot on everyone’s list for the year ahead – and it’s about time.
The country is made up of gorgeous lakes, picturesque mountain views and most important of all, raclette (not to mention Swiss chocolates), and we can’t think of a more wonderful place to explore with your new bride or groom. Granted, it is also known to be slightly on the pricey side of the holiday spectrum – but what better time to splash out on a luxury getaway than your honeymoon?
Either way, Switzerland is set to be in high demand for couples looking to celebrate their nuptials next year, so if you’re keen too you may want to start planning, before everyone else sends prices skyrocketing even higher.
