Dressing like a duchess isn’t always an affordable task – in fact, luxury online marketplace HushHush.com recently calculated that the cost of Meghan’s wardrobe since joining the royal family has reached a quite staggering £750,000.
But if you’re not blessed with a regal budget, there are plenty of ways to copy the looks of Meghan, Kate et al for less, and Instagram account @regal_replikate just found a great one, in the form of a dupe for the gorgeous Roksanda Athena dress the Duchess of Sussex wore during her tour of Australia last year.
Meghan chose the two-tone poplin dress for a visit to Macarthur Girls High School in Sydney last October, styled with pretty half-up half-down hair and classic nude shoes.
The dress, which now comes in other colour options, retails for £850 on Net-A-Porter, but the team behind @regal_replikate have pointed out a very similar style from Hobbs that’s currently on sale for just £59.

@Hobbs have this great #megmirror for the Roksanda Athena dress worn on during the #royalvisitaustralia. I absolutely loved the dress when Meghan wore it, it was such an effortlessly chic look! This @hobbslondon dress is current in the sale for only £53! Called the ‘Helenora’ dress. #duchessofsussex #royalstyle #lookforless
The blue Helenora style features the same colour blocking as Meghan’s outfit with the addition of short sleeves and a chic boat neckline. Originally it was priced at £89 (still a fraction of the original), but now thanks to a seasonal discount, it can be yours for £59.
On the Hobbs website, it’s only in stock in sizes 14 and 16, and now that royal watchers have got their eyes on it, we’d imagine that even they won’t be around for long.
But if you miss out this time, don’t worry – Meghan, husband Prince Harry and baby Archie Harrison are all set to take an official visit to Southern Africa this autumn, so there’s plenty more outfit inspo in the pipeline.
