When you’re Meghan Markle, you must have an array of gorgeous high-end designer outfits at your fingertips – but as the Duchess of Sussex clearly knows, there are times when a high-street purchase is just as good.
Having previously been spotted in affordable labels including Zara and J.Crew (amongst big name labels like Givenchy and Prada, of course), Meghan has surprised royal watchers yet again by option for a little black dress from none of other than Marks & Spencer, with a price tag of just £49.50.
The former actress, who is currently expecting her first child with husband Prince Harry, wore M&S’ Double Crepe Bodycon Dress for an evening at the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall last week. The store has since confirmed that the dress Meghan wore was their design, and fortunately for those who love the look, it’s still available to shop on the Marks & Spencer website.
The black dress, which comes in sizes 6-24, has been ‘carefully crafted to flatter and stun.’ ‘The double crepe material hugs your curves, while the elegant off-shoulder neckline folds down the bust to create a truly stunning piece,’ M&S say – and reviewers agree.
Customers who’ve already added it to their wardrobes call it ‘very flattering’ and ‘lovely’, with one shopper declaring: ‘This is the best dress I have ever bought.’
If you cast your mind back to earlier this year, you’ll recall that it’s not the first time Meghan has picked a piece from the iconic British brand for a public appearance. Back in January, she was spotted in one of their signature bell-sleeved jumpers, with a price tag of £45.
However, if you want to truly recreate Meghan’s style from the Royal Albert Hall, you’ll also need her cover-up for the evening – a cool Stella McCartney coat, which has an RRP of £1,350. Well, one can dream…
