It’s only been three months since May’s royal wedding, but every time we’ve seen new bride Meghan Markle, she seems to have become even more gorgeous.
Her smart-casual fashion choices, signature low bun and crucially, her make-up choices, have become the subject of much praise from royal watchers, many of whom want to recreate her fresh-faced look.
And while the Duchess of Sussex may never divulge her royal beauty secrets, a delve into the archives has revealed a little extra insight into how she achieved that same natural glow in days gone by.
Speaking about her character Rachel in the TV show Suits, Meghan admitted to Allure back in 2014: ‘I am so much more low-key in real life. She’s so polished. And it’s in HD, so the steps that go into looking good on a show are very different than in real life.’
As for the products required for this low-key look? ‘I don’t wear foundation,’ she explained. ‘My routine is very simple — I call it the five-minute face. It’s just Touche Éclat, curled lashes, mascara, Chap Stick, and a little bit of blush.’
YSL’s world-famous highlighting pen Touche Éclat is known for its ability to giving you a healthy radiance, even when the rest of your skin is bare, and Meghan isn’t the only fan – Victoria Beckham, Nicole Scherzinger and Kate Bosworth are all said to love the product. It’s therefore little surprise that six pens are sold every single minute.
‘If I’m going to amp it up for night, then I use MAC Teddy eyeliner, which is a really beautiful brown that has some gold in it,’ Meghan continued.
‘A makeup artist I work with often, Kayleen McAdams, turned me on to it. It’s what she uses on Sofia Vergara, and who wouldn’t want those gorgeous brown almond eyes?’
Amen to that.
