We all know by now that the royals can’t give out product recommendations – but that doesn’t stop fans of the duchesses et al digging through the archives to find out which buys they loved before they joined the family.
Take Meghan Markle’s now defunct lifestyle blog The Tig, for example. Every inch of her posts have been examined by royal watchers to determine everything from her staple cleansing cloths to her go-to cocktail (a twist on Pimm’s, in case you were wondering).
And a recently resurfaced story has come back to light that reveals Meghan’s favourite scented candles, from none other than luxury fragrance house Diptyque.
Now that the brand has unveiled its Christmas collection (including a seriously stunning advent calendar), people are once again referring to it as ‘Meghan’s favourite candle brand’ – and there’s been further evidence to back up this claim since the original picture.
After Meghan and Prince Harry tied the knot in 2018, Diptyque disclosed that it had been asked to scent the event.
According to reports, products including candles and room sprays were used to set the scene in both the rooms where the couple got ready, as well as at St George’s Chapel itself – although it’s never been revealed which fragrance they chose to mark the occasion.
Meghan has never made a secret of the fact that beautiful scents are a big part of her life: in fact, she told the Express in 2016: ‘Fragrance is my favourite thing. So much so that if I leave the house and I don’t put any on, I’ll turn around and go back home.’
At the time she named ‘Oribe Côte d’Azur Eau de Parfum and both the Wild Bluebell and Wood Sage & Sea Salt Colognes by Jo Malone’ as her top picks – but we wonder if she’s also a fan of Diptyque’s new perfumed jewellery?
