We’d all like a face like Maya Jama, right? And now the TV presenter has revealed one of the tips that helps her stay so flipping gorgeous (alongside excellent genes and a great bone structure, of course).
With the new series of Glow Up: Britain’s Next Make-Up Star on the way, Maya – who last season took over from Stacey Dooley as presenter on the BBC Three show – has been revealing some of her favourite beauty hacks.
You might think these would all involve expensive lotions and potions, but her tip for a good foundation base is in fact absolutely free!
‘For me, the key to a good foundation base is a really hot face wash, and then a freeze face wash – using either a flannel in the fridge to ice your face, or cold spoons first thing in the morning’ she told Glamour.
Maya said she uses this method to deal with large pores, adding: ‘I’d do anything to give the illusion of smaller pores. I have big pores. You just can’t see them on the camera, but that’s probably because they’re iced off most of the time.’
Of course, every skin type is different, and some people find using hot water on their face can be very drying, but judging by Maya’s gorgeous visage, it clearly does the job for others.
Glow Up’s fourth series will see Maya joined by judges Val Garland and Dominic Skinner, who are on the hunt for the best up-and-coming make up artists. It will return to BBC Three on Wednesday 11 May at 8pm.
