Marks & Spencer has no shortage of sellouts these days – from flattering midi dresses to must-have trainers, its fashion team is turning out hit after hit. And now, they appear to have hit the motherlode, with an entire newly-dropped collection flying off the rails in double quick time.
One of the store’s long-running lines, Per Una, has had a makeover, and now that it’s arrived in stores, customers are sitting up and paying serious attention. In fact, according to reports, 30,000 pieces from the range have sold in the last seven days alone.
Speaking to Grazia, design directors Lisa Illis and Jill Stanton, who are responsible for the new look explained: ‘This collection is more versatile than ever before. It celebrates simple styling and is a fresh new direction.
‘One of the hero shapes is the tiered shirt dress [pictured above]; it is incredibly flattering and easy to wear every day.’
On its website, M&S expands on the philosophy: ‘The latest Per Una womenswear collection makes getting dressed that little bit simpler, and a whole lot more beautiful. Expect the softest tailoring and go-anywhere day dresses, for femininity with true personality,’ it says.
‘Plus, you can underpin your look with our Per Una denim that’s effortlessly stylish and fabulously soft, with a touch of stretch for a flattering fit.’
Per Una’s trend-led S/S 19 update is centred on this season’s hero palette of neutrals, with everything from on-trend accessories to boho dresses in various shades of brown, beige and terracotta – meaning that it’s ideal for building a mix-and-match capsule wardrobe.
The other uniting factor? It’s all affordably priced, starting at £12.50 for a linen vest that we’ll be throwing into every suitcase we pack this summer. Get down to your local store before another 30,000 pieces disappear!
