This £39 M&S linen midi dress is set to be a summer staple

There are so many midi dresses on the high street rails these days it’s overwhelming – but when you’ve tried on (and bought) as many as we have, you know a standout style when you see one. And we predict that M&S’ latest linen look will sell out even faster than most.

The dress, brought to our attention by fashion influencer Natalie Lee of Style Me Sunday, ticks all of our must-have boxes – a perfect three-quarter sleeve length, great fabric, cinching around the waist and even the ultimate dress bonus, pockets.

Team all of that with a price tag of less than £40 and a choice of four classic colours, and you know the store is on to a winner.

‘Our linen blend dress is a lovely pick for summer, made from light and breezy fabric,’ M&S says of the design, which comes in cream, black, khaki and navy. ‘Team with heeled sandals and some statement jewellery for those al fresco evenings out or trainers for days out and about.’

It’s this versatility that has customers who have already invested in the piece calling it the ‘perfect summer dress’, with one five-star reviewer commenting: ‘Saw this dress online and fell in love with the shape – luckily it didn’t disappoint in real life.

‘Slightly on the larger size but fit is gorgeous and such a light breathable fabric. I’ve gone on to purchase two other colours for summer.’

Another hailed it as the ultimate ‘faff-free frock’, adding: ‘Bought in the khaki. Easy going dress, good weight fabric and ideal length. Looks great with a wide tan belt and tan sandals. Should be very useful and wearable. Tempted by the other colours.’

The dress is part of Marks & Spencer’s latest Per Una drop, which we reported recently has proved to be a big hit with customers, with 30,000 units flying out of stores in just one week.

However, as this dress is a new arrival, it is, thankfully, still in stock in sizes 6-24 on the Marks & Spencer website – for now. If you love it as much as we do, we’d highly advise snapping it up while you still can!
