Remember the breathtaking white chain-print Victoria Beckham dress the Duchess of Sussex wore to her royal appearance at the Commonwealth Service back in March? Well, Victoria herself recently stepped out wearing a similar dress with the same print on it as she attended a Spanish wedding with husband David.
Both Meghan and Victoria rocked the gorgeous print in their own way – the duchess going for a formal, royally-approved vibe, while the former Spice Girl looked chic as ever in her signature ‘highlighter’ heels.
And thanks to Marks & Spencer, you can join the club and style the beautiful print for much less, as the high street giant has created a near-identical skirt version of the VB design. But unlike the original, it comes with a very generous price tag of just £39.50.
The rope-print skirt is part of Marks & Spencer’s summer womenswear collection, a range it describes as ‘high quality and flattering everyday essentials, to perfectly complement her busy working life; from best fitting denim to sustainably sourced cotton.’
The skirt in question appears to have been very much inspired by VB’s popular collection, and it helps that Meghan is a big fan of the brand too – although it took her some time to come around. In fact, the duchess once said that she didn’t wear Victoria Beckham designs because she felt they didn’t suit her.
Discussing her personal style with GLAMOUR at the time, she said: ‘Now what I’m starting to learn is, even though things look amazing on the hanger, it doesn’t mean they’re going to look amazing on me. For example, I love Victoria Beckham dresses, but I don’t have the long torso to support that silhouette.’ But of course, things have changed a lot since then.
These days, Meghan appears to be a huge fan of VB having been spotted in her popular designs on several occasions – including the royal appearance on Christmas Day.
Similarly, Victoria adores Meghan just as much, telling US show Live With Kelly and Ryan of the look: ‘She looked so beautiful. It was such a lovely surprise to wake up to on Christmas morning. I think that she’s such a beautiful, strong, wonderful woman, so it was a huge honour.’
