Marks and Spencer’s Colin the Caterpillar cake is up there with some of the brand’s most popular and beloved snacks of all time. Colin cakes have graced many a birthday party, wedding and even Easter celebration – and now, for the second year running, you can pick up a special Christmas Colin The Caterpillar cake in honour of the festive season.
Following the success of the first Christmas Colin last year, he’s officially back for 2020, and you’ll be able to get this special edition Colin in time for dessert on 25th December, or even for Boxing Day feasts (if you ask us, a far superior alternative to the usual Christmas pud).
‘Everyone’s favourite caterpillar has gone all seasonal with a makeover, including a festive Santa hat and edible decorations,’ M&S says of the tasty offering, describing him as ‘a moreish chocolate sponge roll filled with chocolate buttercream and smothered in delicious milk chocolate.’
And as if the joy of Colin in a Santa hat wasn’t enough, this dessert option won’t break the bank; at £10, it’s a notably affordable addition to any seasonal spread. He also serves 10 people, making the cake a mere £1 per serving – although considering how delicious we know the usual Colin is, we do doubt whether we’ll be able to stretch him quite that far without nibbling a little extra.
If you’re already raring to go, mark 19th December (that’s this Wednesday!) in your diaries, because that’s when he’ll will be available to buy in store.
This new Christmas Colin joins a whole host of impressive Christmas food from M&S, including an upgraded light-up version of the now-iconic clementine gin snow globe, and delicious-looking mince pie cookies and yumnuts. Tis the season to indulge, after all!
