We’re well into summer now, which means picnic season is in full swing. And our go-to for the best picnic snacks? It is, of course, our beloved local Marks & Spencer food hall.
Not only does the supermarket have endless flavours of delicious canned cocktails to indulge in but its selection of nibbles is top-notch. From Percy Pigs to delicious sharing bags of chocolate, not to mention staples like hummus and carrot sticks and apple and peanut butter, it’s there for all of our ‘picky bits’ needs. And now, the store has added an exciting new option to the mix.
The retailer recently announced a brand new style of ‘crisps’ which will now be stocked on their shelves and it sounds like the perfect summer snack. Say hello to charcuterie crisps.
The new chorizo and salami crisps are made with 100 per cent Italian and Spanish pork and if you’re a meat eater, you’re going to want to get involved. Especially as they are air-fried instead of fried (like most other crisps) which means they only contain 136 calories for a 25 gram pack. It’s practically a healthy snack!
‘The crisps are cured in the traditional way and then air-dried by our charcuterie experts in the heart of the Pyrenees in Spain,’ M&S explains.
The charcuterie crisps are available in three flavours: Spanish Chorizo (which contains the most calories at 136kcals), Salami Milano (131kcals), and Spanish Serrano Ham (99kcals).
The brand announced the new addition to their snacks range via their Instagram page, sharing an enticing photo and writing: ‘Say hello to NEW delicious snacks for summer! Spanish Chorizo Crisps and Italian Salami Milano Crisps – air dried, not fried, under 150 calories per pack and just £1.50!’
The post ranked up almost 3,000 likes with many customers expressing their excitement in the comments section and we don’t blame them – we can’t wait to try them either!
