This new haircare line is said to be Kerastase-level quality for less than half the price

When it comes to haircare, there are so many different needs to cater for – from dry and thirsty locks to fine, limp strands that constantly resist volume, we all have different requirements from our routine.

But celebrity hairdresser Mark Hill appears to have addressed all of them with the launch of his new collection The Hair Lab, which is said to have bottled professional salon quality products at actually affordable prices.

Encased in expensive-looking monochrome and metallic bottles that wouldn’t look out of place in an Aesop store, the range spans three core areas: hydration, smoothing, and strengthening, all of which include a shampoo, conditioner and tailored treatments.

There’s also a styling edit with blow dry cream, hairspray, and heat protection to help you achieve a fresh-from-the-salon finish, and coming soon, even electricals with all of the clever features you’d expect from a high-end line like Dyson or GHD.

Yet somehow the potential damage to your bank balance is impressively low: the shampoos and conditioners are just £8.99 apiece, and nothing bar the straighteners and tongs costs more than £11.99. Not bad for the exact products Mark uses in his own professional work…

mark hill hair lab‘Every product we launch is born in the salon not the boardroom, so that we can offer products that are at the highest performance level,’ he says of the launch.

‘I’ve been working with my laboratory team for years to create advanced salon formulas for my customers that deliver at every level and push the boundaries of the high street hair market – you would never normally see a range of this quality outside of the salon.’

True to its purse-friendly ethos, the 17-item range is exclusive to Boots, so you can pick it up on the high street or order it online. If you’re not sure where to start, here’s how to work out which range is right for you and start embracing good hair days every day.
