Whenever you visit a Mango store, you’re always spoilt for choice with gorgeous dresses and on-trend occasionwear – but when a line sells out in just two days? You know there’s something seriously amazing on the rails.
That’s exactly what happened when the Spanish fashion brand released the tie-dye print dress from its Gala Collection, a range created in partnership with Sofía Sanchez de Betak, an Argentinian fashion consultant and designer (and a big name on Instagram) for this year’s Met Gala.
Sofía wore a similar design from the brand to the event, which flew out of stock almost instantly. And it looks like hundreds of shoppers have been inspired by her style, snapping up the relaxed fit, halter-neck version in the same sunny orange and yellow colour palette in droves since it dropped on 6 June.
At £79.99, the dress would be a reasonably-priced choice for any special occasion, its gentle ombre look providing the perfect way to pay homage this season’s tie-dye trend without fully reverting to the 90s.
As it’s such a statement piece, only simple accessories are required: think barely-there sandals in coordinating colours à la Mango’s model, teamed with a sprinkling of discreet gold jewellery to add a touch of extra interest. And it needn’t be limited to summer weddings or exclusive parties – we can picture the dress looking just as good over a bikini as an elegant beach cover-up, too.
Mango just dropped the second run of the piece, but there’s no guarantee that it’ll be back for more, so if you’ve fallen in love as deeply as us, we’d highly suggest adding it to your basket while you still can.
Or, if it’s not quite your style? Take a peek at the rest of the Gala Collection, where there’s several more wow-factor items waiting to be discovered. Fancy summer dressing dilemmas, solved!
