Channing Tatum has confirmed Magic Mike 3 is on the way

With the headlines dominated by gloomy news, it’s always nice to have an update that lifts the spirits.  And that’s just what actor Channing Tatum has provided, with news that a third instalment of Magic Mike is on the way.

The raunchy film franchise has won legions of fans across the world, so we can be pretty sure that the new movie will be a huge success.

Tatum shared the news on Twitter, with a photo of the front page of the new script and the caption ‘Well world, looks like Mike Lane’s tapping back in’. The script is entitled Magic Mike’s Last Dance, suggesting this is perhaps the final instalment of the franchise.

Magic Mike was first released in 2012, and was loosely based on Tatum’s own experiences as a stripper. It followed 19-year-old Adam, played by Alex Pettyfer, as he was introduced to the world of stripping by the experienced Mike (Tatum). The movie, which features plenty of steamy scenes where muscly men dance on stage, quickly became popular. Funny that.

A follow-up movie, Magic Mike XXL, was released in 2015, and saw the group head out on a road trip to Florida.
