MAC is launching three new versions of its bestselling Ruby Woo lipstick

When it comes to red lipstick, you sure can’t beat MAC’s Ruby Woo. Over the years (over 20 since it launched, to be exact), the bullet lipstick has reached icon status, with everybody from Rihanna to Taylor Swift claiming to be big fans. In fact, it’s such a hit that these days, one sells every eight seconds: an impressive feat in a world where red lipsticks are a dime a dozen.

It perhaps comes as little surprise therefore that to celebrate its ongoing success, MAC is now launching a whole ‘crew’ of lipsticks in honour of Ruby Woo, meaning more ways to wear the iconic shade than ever before.

Ruby’s Crew will feature four gorgeous lip products, including the original Retro Matte, but in gorgeous limited edition red packaging. The other three products are entirely new to the line up and we guarantee you’ll want to try every single one of them.

Retro Matte Lipstick in Ruby Woo, £19.50, MAC

First up is the Retro Matte Liquid Lip Colour in the shade ‘Ruby Phew!’. This liquid lipstick offers super long wear and a matte, pigmented finish that will last all day (and night) long. The product feeds into the ongoing popularity of liquid lip formulas, which were brought into the mainstream largely by Kylie Jenner’s lip kits several years ago.

Second, there will be a Powder Kiss Lipstick version, named ‘Ruby New’. For those who aren’t quite ready for a super bold, striking red lip, this is the perfect alternative, offering a slightly softer, lighter look.

Then finally, Ruby’s Crew will also include a Powder Kiss Liquid Lip Colour in ‘Ruby Boo’, which is an ideal combination of the two former new additions. It promises long wear in a matte finish, yet is still hydrating on the lips and has a lightweight, flattering mousse texture.

The entire line will be out tomorrow, 7 October, meaning you don’t have to wait long at all to get your hands on the new MAC Ruby Woo drops. We predict big things for this iconic crew, that’s for sure.
