Lush has released a special koala-shaped soap in aid of the Australian bushfires

It’s no secret that we love a new beauty launch. But do you know what we love even more than that? A beauty launch that helps a crucial cause. And this week, Lush gave us just that by introducing its latest product in aid of the animals affected by the Australian bushfires.

The popular retailer has launched a new hand soap inspired by Australian animals and naturally, the appropriate choice was an adorable koala-shaped bar that you’re going to want to purchase immediately.

The ‘All The Wild Things’ soaps are priced at £5 each with all the proceeds going directly to the newly-formed Bush Animal Fund – a grassroot organisation supporting wildlife welfare and habitat restoration.

Like all Lush products, you can expect the soaps to be top-notch quality. In fact, the koala soap is made with the same formula as the brand’s best-selling soap, the Outback Mate, including ingredients like eucalyptus oils and lemongrass.

Outlining the reason behind the special soap launch, Lush state on their website: ‘We can only imagine the horror faced out in the Australian bush by those who are going out searching for animal survivors amongst the estimated billion creatures killed so far in the fires. In recognition of the overwhelming task faced by this informal Animal’s Emergency Service, we have made All The Wild Things soap.

‘Net proceeds from this limited edition eucalyptus and lemongrass soap will go to animal rescue groups providing emergency first aid and rehabilitation as well as restoring the habitat where the wild things were. Grab one now online or visit your local Lush shop. Let the wild recovery start.’

Similarly, Lush Ethical Director Hilary Jones said: ‘Across our business there has been a call from customers and staff for some way to help.’

She added: ‘We can only imagine the horror faced out in the bush by those who are going out searching for animal survivors amongst the estimated billion creatures killed so far in the fires. In recognition of the overwhelming task faced by this informal “animal’s emergency service” we will be immediately launching a limited edition soap, All The Wild Things, with the proceeds going to animal rescue groups providing first aid, rehabilitation and habitat restoration.
