Finding the perfect sunglasses is a tricky business. Too ‘statement’ and they won’t go with enough different outfits to earn their costs per wear, too plain and you’ll get bored of them quickly (cue the shameful drawer full of very similar looking sunglasses).
But when Lulu Guinness launched their SS20 range of sunglasses during lockdown, every single style sold out in three days. Now that they’re back in stock, we took a gander at the eight retro-influenced styles to see what all the fuss is about.
Each pair of glasses draws inspiration from the brand’s archive, culminating in a selection of vintage-style frames in a bold colour palette for an effortlessly stylish look.
There are plenty of cat-eye shapes in myriad styles, from subtle wire frames to acetate flicks, which are perfect for nailing that retro look with a contemporary feel. Meanwhile, the red colourblock and red tortoiseshell styles mimic the classic Lulu lips shape. If you prefer a more rounded sunglass shape, the abstract floral style will be for you.
The whole collection spans a striking colour palette of classic black, pristine white and traffic-stopping red with gold accents for a hint of glamour.
Each pair is finished with signature Lulu detailing, such as a small lips on the inside of the frame and a gold LULU GUINNESS or that iconic lip shape on the outside of the arm.
Seeing as they sold out in three days last time, we reckon it won’t be long before this restock is gone too, so we’ll be getting ours while we still can.
