Every now and then a product comes along that completely changes the skincare game – and Liz Earle’s Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser, which launched in its first incarnation in 1995, is one of them.
The rich, soothing cleansing balm, which has won more than 100 beauty industry awards to date, has developed a cult following of both consumers and celebrities over the years, with stars including Holly Willoughby and Poppy Delevingne professing themselves to be fans.
‘I’ve used it for years and love it,’ Holly said of the product previously. ‘I tend to use a lot of Liz Earle products because they really suit my skin.’
‘As a busy mum, my beauty routine is quite simple, as I don’t have a huge amount of time, so I use products that are quick and easy. I don’t tend to use different products for night and day either.’
Now, the cleanser, which retails for £15 by itself and £16.50 with an accompanying muslin cloth, the has become so popular than one tube now flies off the shelves every 17 seconds – and even limited edition versions of the Cleanse and Polish receive rave reviews.
Most recently, Liz Earle launched two new scented variations: Lavender & Vetiver, and Mimosa & Angelica (which is exclusive to Boots) both which have had a very positive reception from fans of the brand.
‘Can not wait to take my makeup off at the end of the day using this cleanser, please keep it permanently in the range as the texture and perfume are addictive,’ exclaimed one happy customer, followed by another who added: ‘I love this product, along with normal C&P, but this has a great welcome to spring scent that is comforting, relaxing and just makes you not want to put it down. Has a suttle flowery aroma. Same beautiful texture and results!’
The praise is equally enthusiastic for the original formula: ‘After struggling to find a product that left my skin feeling cleansed and soft I’ve finally found the one,’ one user declared. ‘I use it every other day as part of my skincare routine to ensure my skin stays happy and healthy!’
