With the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee approaching on 2 June, the festivities and celebrations are nearly upon us. We already know of a host of events taking place across the bank holiday weekend, but before all of that a celebratory event that will be broadcast live on ITV on Sunday 15 May has been announced, making it the first televised event to mark this historic occasion.
Broadcast live from the private grounds of Windsor Castle, a star-studded line-up of British and international talent has been confirmed to take part in the event, including Dame Helen Mirren, Damian Lewis, Omid Djalili and Tom Cruise.
Phillip Schofield and Julie Etchingham will host the live broadcast of The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebration, and other names confirmed to be joining them include Adjoa Andoh, Lord Andrew Lloyd Webber, Ant and Dec, Dame Joan Collins, Sir Mo Farah, Dame Maureen Lipman, Sir David Jason, Alan Titchmarsh, Dame Kelly Holmes, Moira Stuart and Sir Trevor McDonald.
The theatrical event, which will include 1,300 performers and 500 horses, will tell the story from the reign of Queen Elizabeth I through to the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II.
Special performances by Keala Settle, Gregory Porter and Katherine Jenkins to pay tribute to The Queen’s remarkable 70 years of service have also been confirmed for the Platinum Jubilee TV show.

To mark this momentous occasion, we’ll be bringing the nation a celebratory, star-studded show, complete with show-stopping performances and an epic journey through history, told by some of the most well-renowned and respected names in film and television.’

If you fancy watching the Platinum Jubilee TV show in real life, you can buy tickets to be in the 4,000-strong live audience. The performance will take place over four evenings (from 12-15 May), with a Royal in attendance on each night.
