We can all agree that one of the best things about Christmas is of course, the festive food. This year, we’ve already been spoiled with not only an excellent line-up of dining options for the 25th but quirky new additions to traditional Christmas foods – the latest being a pigs in blankets pizza.
Yep, thanks to Lidl, pigs in blankets pizzas are now a thing and honestly, they sound delicious. After all, the purse-friendly supermarket has combined one of the nation’s favourite Christmas treat with a universally-adored dish, so what’s not to love?
Aside from the star ingredient, which acts as a topping, the special pizza is made up of red onions and cranberry sauce as well as a Mediterranean style tomato sauce and of course, cheese – all on a stoned-baked sourdough base.
Priced at just £3.29 per pizza, the Pigs in Blanket Festive Pizza will be available in Lidl stores from Thursday 5 December. As always, they’ll only be available whilst stocks last, so you know the drill – get down to your local Lidl as soon as they hit shelves or you could be left disappointed and have to go without.
However, this isn’t the only Christmas-inspired food to get excited by. Yesterday, we reported that Morrisons is bringing back its famous Santa and snowman butters. The salted butter sculptures have been building quite the online reputation for the last few years, with more and more shoppers sharing their discovery in store each December, and now the brand has confirmed that they’ll be back for 2019.
Similarly, chocoholics across the nation were thrilled last week when Cadbury launched its Secret Santa Workshop at House of Fraser on Oxford Street – a pop-up where customers can make their very own personalised selection boxes containing all of their favourite chocolates.
The goods just keep on coming this Christmas!
