Lightweight and long wearing, linen has always been a key fabric for summer, and now you can pick it up at a better price than ever, because budget supermarket Lidl has used it as the inspiration for their latest fashion drop.
The Lidl linen collection offers a range of cool, casual clothes for both men and women, with prices starting from just £4.99. With flattering colours and pretty prints worthy of any holiday wardrobe, we predict it’s going to be very popular with bargain-savvy shoppers up and down the country.
The pastel Esmara linen blend dress (pictured above), for instance, is a rival for several more expensive summer dresses we’ve seen on the high street this season. In many stores, a fitted floral frock would set you back upwards of £30 – but Lidl’s version, complete with flattering rope tie waist, costs a much more affordable £7.99.
If dresses aren’t your thing, the linen range also includes vests, tops and shorts, with prices starting from £5.99, trousers from £7.99, and even ballerina pumps, for a particularly purse-friendly £4.99 – all in blend of the same breathable, airy fabric.
Highlights from the menswear range, meanwhile, include casual shirts from £7.99, and shorts from £6.99 – perfect for creating a laid-back look that will take you from beach to barbecue. There’s even a smart linen blazer, available in beige, grey or navy, and priced at just £19.99. That’s summer wedding season sorted…
The Lidl linen range will be released in stores from Sunday 27 May, but as with many of the supermarket’s popular limited edition launches, you’ll have to be quick, because the clothing will only be available once stocks last – once it’s gone, it’s gone!
We’ll see you in the queue with a linen blend shirt dress (pictured above, and £7.99, in case you’re wondering), and all of the floral print trousers we can carry…
