Today is the day. The Great British Bake Off is back and to celebrate, Lidl has launched a brand new baking collection so we can all play along from the comfort of our own homes.
Every year, the return of Bake Off not only fills our Tuesday nights filled with visual comfort food, but it also inspires us to try our hand at actual baking. Ever wanted to create your own soufflé or master meringue? Bake Off will give you the confidence to finally do it – and thank’s to Lidl, there really is no excuse not to cook up a storm.
The popular bargain supermarket has launched its very own Bake Off-inspired kitchen range, with prices starting from £2.99. The products on offer include a retro blender for £19.99 and a mini chopper for £12.99, meaning you can quite literally become a star baker in no time. You can also get your hands on a lovely kitchen scale for just £5.99 and a stylish hand blender for £7.99.
The collection will hit stores on Thursday 30 August, but it will only be available until stocks last so you’ll have to be quick. We predict it’ll sell out in no time – especially the standout retro blender, which not only has a 1.8 litre capacity but five speed settings, a pulse function and hardened stainless steel blade for crushing ice (well, what could be a better partner for cake than cocktails?). Oh, and it’s available in turquoise, pink and grey. Talk about being spoilt for choice!
The Great British Bake Off will return to Channel 4 for its second season tonight (28 August) following its controversial move from the BBC. Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig will return as hosts, while Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith will be judging the new batch of bakers – all of whom were introduced to the public last week.
From 30-year-old techno DJ Luke, to 27-year-old mental health specialist Kim-Joy and 47-year-old blood courier Jon, this year’s contestants are from all over the country. Get to know them all ahead of tonight’s season premiere, here.
The full kitchen range will be available at Lidl from Thursday 30 August.
